英語環境中會遇到你說的字母，有時因為某種情況別人聽不清，或是容易和別的字母混淆，比如字母b和d有時就會讓人分辨不清，即使是母語是英語的人之間也會出現這種情況，所以用乙個單獨的單詞讓人更快的聽清，比如b is for boy, d is for denmark，這樣一來，對方就能清楚的知道了。
